Join Ciena’s WaveLogic Software Development team and play a key role in the development and sustaining of the WaveLogic Test Platform. This is your opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, spanning embedded CPUs, SOCs, Ethernet PHYs, FPGAs, and optics, while solving complex challenges and driving innovation.

How You Will Contribute:

• Develop and sustain cross-platform software and services for WaveLogic systems, supporting multi-core embedded CPUs, SOCs, Ethernet PHYs, FPGAs, and optics.

• Design, code, and support drivers, diagnostics, and applications using C/C++ and Python.

• Debug system defects, throughput, and performance issues, leveraging expertise in Linux Kernel, TCP/IP stack, VLANs, Forwarding Tables, IP Filters, and memory management.

• Port common operating system elements across product families.

• Collaborate with product verification and test teams to resolve issues and improve efficiency through scripts and test utilities.

• Document and produce artifacts of the software development process while participating in defect resolution and backlog reduction.
  

The Must Haves:

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

• Proficiency in embedded C and C++ programming languages.

• Hands-on experience with Linux kernel drivers and user space drivers.

• Familiarity with Yocto containers, Docker, and related tools.

• Enthusiasm for software development with a willingness to learn and grow.
  

The Assets:

• Experience with Broadcom re-timers or Xilinx FPGAs.

• Knowledge of real-time operating systems concepts.

• Exposure to software development methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.

• Familiarity with optical concepts like DWDM, OTN, Ethernet, OSI Model, and PMs.

Pay Range:

CDN $77,000.00 - $123,000.00
