Google Waterloo, ON, Canada is seeking a Software Engineer in Site Reliability Development to build and run large-scale distributed systems. You will write production code, review peer work, and contribute to documentation while triaging issues affecting reliability and capacity.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in CS/Engineering or equivalent, plus 2 years of software development experience; a Master’s degree and distributed-systems design experience are preferred. In-person interviews apply.

Site Reliability Development combines software and systems development to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. Site Reliability Development ensures that Google's services—both our internally critical and our externally-visible systems—have reliability, uptime appropriate to users’ needs and a fast rate of improvement. Additionally Site Reliability Developers will keep an ever-watchful eye on our systems capacity and performance. Much of our software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure and eliminating work through automation. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

• Canada: $150000 - $153000 (CAD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
