Job summary

Google's Software Developer III, Full Stack, focusing on GCP Telemetry Collection, is based in Waterloo, Ontario. You will contribute to end‑to‑end telemetry pipelines using Go, Java, JavaScript, Python, or C++, and work with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Fluent Bit on scalable backends.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive progress on complex problems, and collaborate across teams to advance multi‑tier systems and observability capabilities for billions of users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Go/Golang, Java, Javascript, Python or C++.
• Experience with open-source observability backends and protocols (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Fluent Bit).

Responsibilities

• Drive progress on telemetry collection projects and architectures.
• Mentor more junior team members and share knowledge across the team.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable distributed systems.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Canada: $150000 - $154000 (CAD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
