Job summary

Pleora Technologies, Inc. invites a Software Developer to join its R&D team, driving embedded and machine-vision software across GPUs, FPGAs, and networked video systems.

You will craft applications and SDKs for Windows, Linux, and ARM platforms, with a focus on high-performance, real-time video processing. You will design features end-to-end, contribute to architecture, and collaborate with UX to build intuitive front-end interfaces.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of solid C++ software development for embedded or machine-vision apps.
  • GUI design experience, ideally with Qt/QML.
  • Image processing with OpenCV, CUDA or OpenCL.
  • Experience integrating sensors and embedded devices using ARM, GPU and FPGA.
  • Proficiency with Visual Studio, Git, JIRA and Confluence.
  • Strong communication in English and/or French.
  • Experience with .NET or Python is a plus.
  • Knowledge of UDP/TCP protocols is advantageous.
  • Experience with ML/neural networks is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software applications for video switching, ML, industrial inspection and automation.
  • Develop embedded apps, SDKs, and drivers (Windows, Linux, Mac) for PCs and embedded ARM platforms for video/image processing and high-speed networks.
  • Develop cross-platform APIs/SDKs for video/image processing, sensors, IoT and ML.
  • Collaborate with the UXD team to design front-end GUI interfaces connected to devices.
  • Research and implement video over Ethernet protocols and TCP/IP/UDP/IP.
  • Contribute to specifications, system architecture, design reviews and documentation.
  • Explore new technologies in CV, frameworks and devices.

Summary

As the leader in high-performance networked video interfaces, you will be a Software Developer in the R&D team, working on projects in embedded/machine vision, IoT, and networked video switching. You will be working on the latest technologies in video, imaging and AI - building software applications and SDKs across the latest hardware platforms including GPUs and FPGAs. You will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing new features for our next generation platforms and involved in all aspects of our technology platform from the front end to the back end. You have experience developing high-quality software applications and SDKs for industrial environments.

What you Do
  • Develop software applications for video switching, machine learning, industrial inspection and automation
  • Develop embedded applications, SDK libraries, and drivers (Windows, Linux, Mac) for PCs and embedded platforms (ARM) for video image processing and for high-speed networks (1G, 5G, 10G+)
  • Develop and integrate cross-platform APIs/SDKs that provide services for video and image processing, sensors, HUMS, driver enhancement, IoT and machine learning
  • Working with the UXD team to design front end GUI interfaces that connect to our devices
  • Research and implementation of video over Ethernet protocols and implementation over TCP/IP and UDP/IP
  • Contribute to specifications, system architecture definition, design reviews and documentation to deliver best-in-class video devices and applications
  • Research into new technologies available in the market in terms of application frameworks, computer vision algorithms and devices
What you Need
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, and/or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of solid software development experience using C++ for embedded systems or machine vision applications
  • Experience designing and implementing GUIs, ideally with Qt/QML
  • Image processing experience in OpenCV, CUDA, OpenCL
  • Experience integrating different types of sensors and embedded devices using a combination of ARM, GPU, and FPGA
  • Experience with development tools including Visual Studio, Git, JIRA, and Confluence
  • Excellent English and/or French communication skills, verbal and written
  • Experience with .NET and/or Python development is considered an asset
  • Solid understanding of UDP/IP and TCP/IP protocols, an asset
  • Machine Learning and neural network modeling experience, an asset

How you'll be rewarded

Salary Range: $80,000 - $105,000 (commensurate with experience)
