Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to build and operate the Oracle Database@AWS service. You will design, implement, and maintain highly available cloud database components and collaborate with product, database, and partner teams across AWS.

You will contribute to system architecture decisions, optimize reliability, and mentor junior engineers while delivering end-to-end features and improvements in a fast-paced cloud environment.

Competenze

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience (patterns, reliability, scaling).
• Experience programming with at least one programming language.
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience.

Key job responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems that power the ODB@AWS service


• Own end-to-end feature delivery from requirements gathering through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, database engineers, and partner teams across AWS


• Contribute to system architecture decisions and drive technical excellence through code reviews, design documents, and best practices

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience


• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience


• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience


• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
