Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an accomplished Cloud Architect to define the reference architecture for a SaaS platform on AWS, spanning compute, networking, data, messaging, and observability. You will own multi-tenant design, data isolation, and compliance, while steering Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform and CloudFormation.

You will design container orchestration with Kubernetes, architect event-driven messaging with RabbitMQ or Kafka, and enable polyglot persistence across databases including

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years in software or infrastructure engineering, with 4+ years in an architecture role for a SaaS product
• Deep, hands-on AWS experience across compute, networking, storage, and managed services
• Proven track record of architecting multi-tenant SaaS platforms, ideally transitioning a product from on-premises or private cloud to public SaaS
• Strong command of cloud-native design patterns: event-driven architecture, microservices decomposition, twelve-factor applications, and API-first design
• Experience leading architecture across multiple engineering teams
• Ability to produce documentation and present tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Own Infrastructure-as-Code strategy using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation

• Define polyglot persistence across relational databases and MongoDB
• Establish observability stacks and SLI/SLO frameworks
• Embed encryption, IAM, secrets management, network segmentation, and SOC 2 Type II readiness into platform architecture
• Produce architecture decision records and documentation
• Set technical direction, collaborate with engineering leadership and product management, and mentor senior engineers
