Job summary

Recovery Alberta is seeking a Social Worker II to join the Addiction & Mental Health Supported Living team in Edmonton. You will conduct psychosocial assessments, assist with treatment planning, and coordinate care across disciplines for clients in 24/7 AMH settings.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in social work, eligibility for ACSW, and current CPR and crisis intervention certifications. A valid driver’s license and the ability to transport clients are expected, with a strong commitment

Qualifications

• Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work.
• Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
• Current CPR (BLS Level C – Health Care Provider).
• Current NCI - Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
• A driver's license and access to a vehicle in good working order with appropriate business insurance and a willingness to transport clients as required.
• Cultural competency and safety with a commitment to ongoing reconciliation.
• Flexibility, openness, and a desire to be a strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Provide a range of social work services to patients and their families, including psychosocial assessment and resource-based interventions.

Addiction & Mental Health Supported Living (AMH Supported Living) is a fast paced and growing area within Recovery Alberta. We currently partner with several agencies in the Edmonton area to provide a broad range of clinical services to the clients who reside in both transitional and long-term housing sites. We work from a recovery-oriented system of care. Our teams are passionate in providing clinical service to the AMH population who require a 24/7 setting due to significant Addiction and Mental Health concerns. We are looking for a skilled and experienced Social Worker II to join our team. This position is part of a multi-disciplinary team and will assist in assessment, treatment planning and overall client care. The Social Worker will also liaise with other teams within the health care system. Generalist social work tasks are part of the role. A knowledge of community supports, and continuum of AMH services is an important skill for this position.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

3-5 years' experience in a community mental health and/or rehabilitation setting preferred. Excellent communication and self-management skills. Knowledge of concurrent capable practice. Knowledge of both recovery-oriented care and harm reduction principles. Experience working with multiple community partners and housing operators is an asset.
