Position Summary

As a Social Worker, you will be an integral part of a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers. What you'll be doing
  • From a social worker perspective, provide client-centered treatment and recovery-oriented support to clients
  • Conduct comprehensive client assessments (includes in vivo discipline specific assessments and multidisciplinary assessment instruments, client self-assessments, family assessments, and reports by other service providers)
  • Develop individualized client treatment / recovery plans in collaboration with the client and other stakeholders
  • Assume responsibility for the treatment, recovery process, and support of assigned clients within the context of primary worker and the larger team
  • Facilitate an optimally supportive environment including assistance (e.g. meeting basic needs, a supportive social environment, and supportive family relationships)
  • Advocating for clients and promoting self-advocacy and client self-determination as appropriate
  • Provide DBT, CBT and interpersonal group therapy
  • Facilitate motivational enhancement in both individual and group sessions
  • Provide individual therapy to address comorbid conditions and family therapy to address interpersonal stressors
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports
  • Contribute to program development and program evaluation

This position involves some evenings and weekends on a rotational basis.

What we're looking for
  • Master's Degree in Social Work
  • Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
  • Training and educated in CBT and / or DBT modalities, and Mindfulness (hands on work preferred)
  • Experience working with individuals with complex mental health and addiction issues, and trauma
  • Experience in program development and delivery
  • Experience with family therapy and / or motivational interviewing preferred
  • Ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Effective computer skills and record keeping
