Job summary

Waterloo Region NPLC is seeking a Social Worker to join an interprofessional team and provide evidence-based psychotherapy and case management in a community setting.

The role involves facilitating access to community resources, developing group psychoeducational programs, and building partnerships with health and social agencies in the region. Ontario registration and a driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work from a recognized university.
  • Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
  • Three to five years’ counseling experience, preferably in a community setting.
  • Proficiency in Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365, PowerPoint, and EMR (Practice Solutions experience preferred).
  • Proficiencies in assessment, motivational interviewing, and evidence-based therapeutic modalities for individuals, couples, families, and communities.
  • Demonstrated experience with CBT and DBT is an asset.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of community resources and experience developing community linkages.
  • Understanding of the social determinants of health and evidence-based healthcare practices.
  • Excellence in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Desire and ability to update knowledge and skills through courses, workshops and conferences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team, independently, and in a community practice setting.
  • Second language an asset.
  • Current Ontario driver’s license with access to a vehicle.

Job description

The Social Worker is a member of the interprofessional team of WRNPLC.Working within the Standards of Practice and Ethics of the Ontario College ofSocial Workers and Social Service Workers, the Social Worker facilitates accessto community support programs and services and provides evidence based multi-modal psychotherapy services for a wide range of mental health issues.Other roles include system navigation and case management, as well asdeveloping, implementing, and evaluating group psychoeducational programs.The Social Worker works in conjunction with other health care providers andbuilds working partnerships with a wide variety of community health and socialagencies.
