Job summary

A non-profit organization is seeking a Social Media Specialist to enhance its online presence. The role involves developing brand strategies, managing social media content, and engaging with the community. Applicants must be fluent in Arabic and English, organized, and proactive with at least 2 years of experience in social media management for NGOs. This is a long-term independent contractor position with compensation of 20,000 EGP per month.

Overview

One of our law firm’s key staff members (Arwa Shurab) is leaving us and going out on her own to champion the non‑profit HERvoice. As she embarks on her new career, Arwa needs her own Social Media Specialist to help her raise awareness and increase the foundation’s reach.

To be eligible for this position
  • You must live in Egypt
  • Speak and write both Arabic and English fluently. (C1 / C2 English proficiency)
  • Be willing to work in Vancouver time (9am-5pm, M-F, some weekends on rare occasion, Pacific Standard Time – [UTC / GMT -7hour)
What the foundation needs you to do
  • Develop a consistent online brand strategy focused on driving traffic and NGO reach.
  • Creating and posting engaging content daily
  • Managing all content across our social platforms: LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and others.
  • Coordinating multi‑channel campaigns

Steps you’ll take to develop the foundation's social media strategy :

  • Develop an appropriate tone and look
  • Clearly define measurable social media campaigns and goals
  • Select appropriate platforms to execute our campaigns (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn)
  • Plan and execute content‑reach campaigns
What you’ll do regarding the content
  • Create and / or oversee graphics, videos, and written posts
  • Write captions and choose appropriate hashtags
  • Stay on brand in tone, voice, and aesthetics
Tools we’ll expect you to be able to use
  • Scheduling tools like Buffer, Hootsuite, or native platform schedulers.
  • Graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe applications
  • Google Analytics, or other with the capacity to gather data, analyze data and report results and opportunities for improvement
Community management you’ll be expected to do
  • Responding to comments and messages in a timely manner
  • Engaging with followers and other relevant accounts
  • Monitoring brand mentions and relevant hashtags
Analytics tasks we’ll expect you to be able to do with proficiency
  • Tracking key performance metrics (KPIs) like reach, engagement, clicks, and conversion pathing and conversation goals
  • Adjusting strategy based on data insights
  • Creating reach‑reports for the NGO

Additional Requirements

You must be organized to do this job: the most important skill for this job is being organized. Before we hire you, we’ll need to see that you’re capable of organizing what you’ll spend your time on, where you’ll focus your efforts, and how you plan to keep track of your efforts with our social media channels.

You’ll also need to have these skills :

  • Ability to be proactive
  • Proven skills as a planner and coordinator
  • Fluency in social media and NGO‑level communication
  • Reporting skills and willingness to be accountable
  • Ability to work with a team, collaborate on efforts and accept direction
  • Understanding of the elements of effective social media marketing materials in a NGO setting
Experience

You’ll need at least 2 years experience in these things to be considered for this job :

  • Experience with Social Media management for an NGO with a passionate focus
  • Strong communication skills both in professional level English and Arabic.
  • Experience working with a marketing team
Compensation

Monthly compensation : 20,000 EGP / month, we are seeking a long‑term independent contractor arrangement with the successful candidate.
