Job summary

RYCO Properties in Calgary is seeking a Social Media & Content Specialist for a hands-on, part-time role (25–30 hours/week). You’ll be behind the camera, creating content for Marlborough Mall and RYCO developments.

RYCO Properties is a Calgary-based real estate and development company shaping communities through commercial, retail, and residential projects. Our flagship property, Marlborough Mall, is home to more than 100 businesses and serves one of Canada's most diverse communities.

We're looking for a Social Media & Content Specialist who is a creator first.

This is not a marketing strategy role. It's a hands‑on opportunity for someone who loves being behind the camera, understands today's social platforms, and knows how to create content that people actually stop scrolling for.

What You’ll Do

• Capture original photo and video across Marlborough Mall and RYCO developments
• Produce engaging Reels, TikToks, Stories, and static content
• Plan, publish, and manage content across all social channels
• Write captions that reflect each brand’s voice
• Cover community events, grand openings, and activations
• Showcase retailers, restaurants, local businesses, and hidden gems
• Create weekly LinkedIn content for RYCO Properties
• Monitor engagement and help grow our online communities
• Organize and maintain a photo and video asset library
• Stay current with social media trends and emerging content formats
  

Who You Are

• A creator with a strong eye for photography and video
• Fluent in Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn
• You understand what makes people stop scrolling
• Curious, self‑motivated, organized, and dependable
• Comfortable shooting content independently in real‑world environments
• Someone who enjoys meeting people and telling community stories
• Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
• Excited to build a portfolio you’re proud of
  

Your Toolkit

Experience with:

• Short‑form content creation
• Smartphone, mirrorless, or DSLR photography and videography
• CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar editing software
• Lightroom, Photoshop, Canva, or comparable creative tools
• Strong writing and storytelling
• Basic social media analytics

Experience in retail, hospitality, community, or real estate marketing is considered an asset but is not required.

Within your first year, you’ll help:

• Grow Marlborough Mall into one of Calgary’s most engaging community brands
• Build a professional LinkedIn presence for RYCO Properties
• Create a library of thousands of reusable photo and video assets
