Job description

Founded in 2004, The Latest Scoop (TLS) is a Vancouver-based, female-owned lifestyle concept store curating a unique mix of fashion, home décor, accessories, footwear, furniture and gifts.

Our stores are vibrant, layered and full of discovery—and we want our digital presence to feel just as inspiring. With a devoted community and growing footprint across Canada, we’re looking for someone who can bring the world of TLS to life on social, deepen our connection with customers and help grow the business.

Who Are You?

You have excellent creative taste and a clear instinct for what makes people connect with a brand. You can turn a varied product assortment into a cohesive lifestyle story, making individual pieces feel desirable and helping customers imagine them in their own lives.

You understand social culture, spot opportunities early and know which trends fit TLS. You bring a distinctive point of view while staying curious about our customers: what inspires them, what they value and what gives them the confidence to buy.

You’re equally comfortable developing a creative concept, briefing a creator and reviewing results. You can explain the customer insight behind an idea, the business purpose it serves and how you’ll learn whether it worked.

You’re organized, collaborative and hands‑on, with the confidence to own projects and bring others along.

Your Mission

Make The Latest Scoop a brand people love discovering, following, shopping and sharing.

Translate the energy and discovery of our stores into a distinctive, aspirational social presence that strengthens our community and contributes to growth online and in‑store.

You’ll own our social strategy and content direction, connecting creative storytelling with customer insight and commercial priorities. Your work should give people a reason to come back, something to fall in love with and the confidence to shop.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Brand Storytelling & Social Strategy

  • Own and execute TLS’s social media strategy, setting clear priorities for platforms including Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest.
  • Develop a recognizable social voice and visual direction that express TLS’s personality across fashion, home and lifestyle.
  • Build repeatable content series that customers recognize, enjoy and return for.
  • Create a content calendar that balances brand storytelling, community connection, product discovery and key retail moments.
  • Identify relevant trends and cultural opportunities, using sound judgment about what fits our brand and audience.

Content Direction & Execution

  • Turn ideas into clear creative briefs, from the concept and message to the format, shot list and intended customer response.
  • Plan and direct short‑form video, photography, styling stories, in‑store content and customer‑ and creator‑led storytelling.
  • Coordinate production with our graphic designer, content creators and store teams, establishing clear responsibilities and keeping work moving from concept to publication.
  • Bring a hands‑on approach to capturing timely content and in‑store moments, alongside directing contributors.
  • Maintain a high standard for creative quality, brand consistency and accuracy across published content.

Product Discovery & Commercial Growth

  • Partner with merchandising, retail, e‑commerce and marketing to identify priority products, customer needs and storytelling opportunities.
  • Create content that makes products desirable and useful through styling ideas, demonstrations, inspiration and answers to common purchase questions.
  • Build social plans for launches, seasonal moments and promotions, with clear objectives and relevant next steps for customers.
  • Help connect social discovery to online shopping and store visits through thoughtful messaging and coordination with the wider team.

Community & Customer Insight

  • Build authentic relationships through thoughtful engagement with comments, messages and tagged content.
  • Encourage customer participation, sharing and advocacy, helping people feel part of the TLS community.
  • Develop relationships with creators whose style, audience and values align with the brand.
  • Use community conversations and store feedback to understand customer interests, questions and purchase barriers.
  • Share those insights with the wider business to inform content, campaigns and the customer experience.

Performance & Learning

  • Define and track measures of relevant audience growth, community connection and commercial contribution.
  • Partner with e‑commerce and retail to understand how social supports product discovery, qualified website traffic, shopping inquiries and sales.
  • Test creative concepts, formats and messaging, using results to guide what we repeat, improve or stop.
  • Report clear insights and recommendations to leadership, explaining what happened, what we learned and what comes next.

You Bring

  • A proven track record of owning social strategy and execution for a fashion, retail or lifestyle brand.
  • A portfolio showing strong creative judgment, distinctive brand storytelling and evidence of audience or business impact.
  • An understanding of customer motivations and how content can build desire, trust and purchase confidence.
  • Strong creative direction skills, including briefing and coordinating designers, photographers, videographers or content creators.
  • Experience with short‑form video, visual storytelling and platform‑specific content.
  • Confidence interpreting performance data and turning it into practical decisions.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to maintain a consistent brand voice.
  • Strong organization, project management and collaboration skills.
  • A willingness to move between strategic planning and everyday execution.
  • Have experience connecting social activity with both e‑commerce and physical retail.
  • Have developed successful recurring content series or creator partnerships.
  • Are comfortable capturing and editing content using tools such as CapCut, Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Are confident on camera or directing others on camera.
  • Have worked with paid media teams to turn successful organic content into advertising creative.

What Success Looks Like

You’ll help TLS build a social presence with a clear identity, compelling product storytelling and an engaged community.

In your first three months, you’ll establish a focused strategy, a reliable content production rhythm and an initial set of tested content concepts. Working with the team, you’ll set meaningful performance baselines and priorities for continued growth.

Over time, your work will strengthen brand desirability, deepen customer relationships and demonstrate social’s contribution to online and in‑store business.

  • Opportunities to grow in a creative, fast‑paced environment.
  • Recognition and performance‑based incentives.
  • Be part of a brand that’s all about fun, fashion and connection.
