We’re looking for a creative, proactive, and highly collaborative Social Media Associate to join our growing Client Education team at Scotia iTRADE.

In this role you’ll help shape and grow Scotia iTRADE’s social media presence – creating engaging educational content that resonates with self‑directed investors. You’ll drive awareness and engagement across key platforms, supporting our mission to build a community of engaged investors and to make education approachable and accessible.

You’ll collaborate with external industry professionals and internal partners across the business to help evolve the learning journey for Scotia iTRADE clients – supporting a dynamic and comprehensive educational landscape across multiple formats and digital platforms.

This role is an integral contribution to Scotia iTRADE’s education vision and content strategy, with a focus on best‑in‑class investor education.

Major Accountabilities

Develop and publish platform‑first social media content including posts, short‑form videos (Reels, Shorts, TikToks), infographics, and educational series to support Scotia iTRADE’s engagement objectives.

Write clear, approachable, and engaging social media copy tailored to help investors understand concepts, products, and strategies.

Build and manage Scotia iTRADE’s social media content calendar – planning, scheduling, and optimizing campaigns across business platforms and social channels (YouTube, Reddit, Scotia iTRADE, Instagram).

Create educational and event‑driven content to build awareness and drive participation in Scotia iTRADE’s investor education programs.

Partner with creative producers and video editors to bring engaging, accessible content ideas to life across digital channels.

Evolve Scotia iTRADE’s social tone, voice, and style to ensure content remains approachable, inclusive, and aligned to brand standards.

Ensure social content meets accessibility, legal, compliance, and business partner requirements.

Support Investor Education Strategy – Stay on top of industry trends and investor needs

Research, create, and evaluate social content that reflects evolving investor education needs, market trends, and social platform developments.

Lead and support social media campaigns that strengthen client understanding of Scotia iTRADE’s platform, tools, and investing opportunities.

Use performance analytics and engagement metrics to continuously refine and improve social media strategy and content.

Regularly conduct competitor and platform reviews to ensure relevance, accuracy, and effectiveness of social engagement.

Maintain a strong understanding of investing trends, best practices in financial education, and emerging digital formats.

Collaboration & Leadership – Contribute to the effective functioning of Scotia iTRADE by

Working closely with education, marketing, and external partners to shape and elevate Scotia iTRADE’s social media presence as part of the broader education offering.

Collaborating across teams (creative, marketing, legal, compliance, business partners) to ensure alignment of content strategy and execution.

Helping build a collaborative and inclusive education content culture by actively participating in team discussions and meetings, sharing ideas and trends, and supporting team success.

Championing creative storytelling, digital‑first content, and clear, approachable social media communication across investor education touchpoints.

Supporting continuous learning by keeping up with new trends, tools, and best practices in digital content creation and social media marketing.

Education / Work Experience / Designations

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in social media marketing, content creation, or digital engagement, with at least 1 year in a regulated industry (finance, fintech, or a comparable environment) preferred.

Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Proven ability to translate investing concepts and financial education topics into clear, engaging, and relatable social media content for a broad audience.

Hands‑on experience creating social‑first content and managing publishing across multiple platforms and formats such as short‑form video (Reels, Shorts), posts, infographics, and stories.

Prior knowledge of financial services and investor education topics is an asset, with the ability to adapt content for different investor experience levels.

Strong communication and copywriting skills with the ability to create content that is accessible, clear, and compliant.

Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and build strong working relationships with internal partners and external subject‑matter experts.

Knowledge of the Canadian investing landscape, retail investor trends, and self‑directed investing is an asset.

Additional Candidate Details

A proven track record of delivering engaging social media content and managing platform presence in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

Passion for financial education, digital storytelling, and making complex topics more accessible to Canadians.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively across teams, with excellent attention to detail and follow‑through.

Experience working in regulated industries and familiarity with compliance considerations in digital marketing is preferred.

Ability to work independently or collaboratively on multiple projects and deadlines, adapting to changing priorities.

Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage a content calendar and meet publishing deadlines.

Fluent in French or experienced in creating content for French‑speaking markets.

Proficiency with social media management scheduling and analytics platforms (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Sprinklr).
