Job summary

Whistler Sliding Centre in Whistler, BC is seeking a Facility Operations Worker – Snow Clearing for the winter season. This hands-on role focuses on snow removal, machinery operation, and general venue maintenance to keep the Centre safe and accessible.

The position offers weekend/evening scheduling with housing available for full-time staff, and requires 1–3 years of machine operation experience and a valid BC license. Start date is October 20, 2026.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in machine operation and maintenance.
• Snow removal experience, particularly in a mountain environment, is preferred.
• Experience safely operating heavy equipment, plow trucks and related machinery.
• Hands‑on knowledge of servicing and maintaining heavy equipment and attachments.
• Experience using small equipment and hand tools, including snow blowers, drills and saws.
• Ability to complete competency assessments on required equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and a safety‑conscious approach to your work.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative operations team.
• Flexibility to support other operational areas when needed.
• A valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate snow plows, heavy equipment, trucks and ATVs safely.
• Clear snow from roads, pathways and access areas throughout the Whistler Sliding Centre.
• Manual snow clearing around buildings and structures.
• Install snow chains and adapt operations as weather and site conditions change.
• Ensure safe access for colleagues, athletes, guests and operational vehicles.
• Inspect equipment and maintain detailed operating records.
• Identify, document and address safety hazards.
• Assist with ice maintenance and other winter facility operations.
• Support facility bookings and events, including setup and teardown.
• Maintain tools, equipment, inventory and work areas.
• Carry out Whistler Sport Legacies’ AIM philosophy in all interactions.
