A growing maintenance service provider in Northwestern Ontario is seeking a Small Engines Mechanic. The role involves repairing and maintaining fire season equipment such as fire pumps, chainsaws, and generators. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, have relevant certifications, and be able to work both independently and in a team. The Small Engines Mechanic is responsible for the repair and maintenance of fire season equipment, while providing overall support to the shop team.
Small Engine Mechanics work a schedule of Monday‑Friday, 8:30am‑5:00pm, with additional support at times required in the evenings and weekends, dependent on current fire activity in the region.
Wages are paid based on a flat rate schedule ($23.00/hr training rate, $26.00/hr flat rate after 4 week training period). Specific pay details are discussed at the interview phase.
