Overview

Opportunity

As a Small Business Commercial Insurance Advisor you will interact with commercial clients, maintain professional business relationships with new and existing clients and insurers, and manage an entire book of business. You will review and prepare client files, lead marketing efforts, and evaluate and price the insureds risk.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional client care as the primary client service contact.
  • Respond to client requests directly or via the Senior Account Manager / Account Executive / Marketer, compiling information and submitting to insurance companies and binding coverage where appropriate.
  • Participate in formal account reviews; assist in account rounding and provide value-added services for clients.
  • Prepare submissions in Policy Works and EPIC; prepare proposals, cover notes, client correspondence, certificates, and invoices as per agency standards.
  • Assist Account Teams with various administrative functions.
  • Review and prioritize all assigned tasks daily, including mail, emails, abeyances, and activities.
  • Maintain accuracy of electronic and physical files as per agency standards.
  • Manage the marketing of accounts, including new, renewal, and midterm changes.
  • Collect data from clients, create expert submissions, negotiate rates and coverages with underwriters, and present to account executives with the best programs and bind coverage.
  • Provide training and guidance to new Insurance Advisors on the team.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.
What you will bring to our team
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to provide measurable deliverables to Account Managers and clients.
  • Up to ten years of commercial experience as an Insurance Advisor.
  • Level 2 insurance license.
  • Good communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Pro-active and a self-starter.
  • Commercial bonding experience is required.
  • Experience with marketing and client contacts on accounts within the book of business.
  • Confident to work independently without supervision.
  • Superior client service presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • A keen attention to detail; solution-oriented and a critical thinker.
  • Works well in a fast-paced, client-focused environment; motivated to contribute within a team.
Salary and Benefits

The compensation for this position is a variable structure (base salary plus commissions). The expected base salary is 50,000 to 70,000 plus commissions based on sales performance. Total compensation will vary by skills, experience, location, and business line scope. HUB International offers comprehensive benefits and total compensation packages, which may include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid time off, and eligible bonuses for some positions.
