Job summary

Canoco Energy Services is hiring experienced Skid Steer Operators for a turnaround project at the CNRL Horizon Site. This fly-in/fly-out opportunity includes camp accommodations and charter flights from Edmonton or Calgary, with competitive rates.

The role involves safely operating skid steer equipment, supporting material handling, site cleanup, and other construction activities for the duration of the turnaround. Rotation up to 12-hour shifts is required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating skid steer equipment in an industrial or construction environment.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas is a strong asset.
  • Must have a valid Skid Steer Operator certification and a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Required safety certifications: H2S Alive, CSTS/CSO, WHMIS 2015, Confined Space, Fall Protection.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate skid steer equipment per manufacturer specs and site requirements.
  • Use various skid steer attachments as needed for project tasks.
  • Move, load, unload, and position materials safely on site.
  • Support site cleanup, material handling, grading, and general construction activities.
  • Perform pre-use inspections and daily equipment inspection reports.
  • Identify and report equipment defects promptly.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and safe operation around personnel.

Position: Skid Steer Operator – Turnaround

We are currently hiring experienced Skid Steer Operators for a turnaround project at the CNRL Horizon Site. This is a fly-in/fly-out opportunity with camp accommodations provided, charter flights available from Edmonton or Calgary, and competitive rates.

The successful candidates will be responsible for safely operating skid steer equipment while supporting material handling, site cleanup, snow/ground maintenance, equipment movement, and general construction activities throughout the duration of the turnaround.

Qualifications & Education:
  • Previous experience operating skid steer equipment in an industrial or construction environment
  • Experience working in the Oil & Gas industry is considered a strong asset
  • Valid Skid Steer Operator certification
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Required certifications: H2S Alive, CSTS or CSO, WHMIS 2015, Confined Space, and Fall Protection
  • Ability to commit to the required project rotation, working up to 12-hour shifts for the full duration of the turnaround

  • Perform pre-use inspections and complete daily equipment inspection reports
  • Identify and report equipment defects or maintenance requirements promptly
  • Work closely with supervision, trades, and other site personnel to support daily operations
  • Maintain awareness of site hazards and ensure safe operation around personnel, structures, and other equipment
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping practices and ensure work areas remain clean and organized
  • Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while maintaining a commitment to safety and quality
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with Canoco safety standards and client-specific requirements
