About Our Client

Our client is a well‑established company in the National Capital Region, specializing in the construction of commercial and multi‑residential buildings. Following significant growth in recent years, the company is now seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to support its projects in Ottawa. As a mid‑sized organization, it offers a structured environment where excellence, innovation, and technical rigor are central to its operations.

Job Description

As a Site Superintendent - Low/Mid-Rise, you will oversee a residential project (approximately 4 stories, 16 units).

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, coordinating, and supervising all on‑site construction activities
  • Maintaining the construction schedule and regularly communicating updates to subcontractors for effective management
  • Leading and supervising subcontractor teams to ensure work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, standards, and applicable laws
  • Setting priorities and directing subcontractors in line with project timelines
  • Preparing change orders and obtaining management approval before implementation
  • Managing budget impacts by adhering to decisions made by the director and/or project manager
  • Monitoring work quality and ensuring deficiencies are promptly corrected
  • Providing regular updates to the project director and/or project manager, including reporting delays or site issues
  • Participating in site meetings and organizing coordination meetings with subcontractors
  • Ensuring compliance with and implementation of the prevention program as well as occupational health and safety standards
  • Preparing daily site reports and employee timesheets
  • Performing other related duties as required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • In‑depth knowledge of construction standards, codes, and regulations
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
