Job summary

A global security leader is seeking a Site Security Supervisor at SFU Burnaby. In this role, you will supervise daily operations of a safety team at a vibrant university campus. The successful candidate must have strong leadership and communication skills, a valid BC Security License, and a minimum of two years’ supervisory experience. Responsibilities for Site Supervisor
  • Supervise and support Campus Public Safety Officers during daily operations.
  • Monitor and manage staff performance, ensuring adherence to professional standards.
  • Conduct hazard assessments and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Manage and maintain staff schedules, ensuring full shift coverage and proper shift transitions.
  • Coordinate onboarding, training, and certification tracking for new and existing staff.
  • Review and submit incident reports, maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
  • Act as a liaison with SFU stakeholders and attend operational briefings.
  • Ensure all personnel comply with SFU policies, provincial regulations, and the BC Security Services Act.
  • Ensure staff uphold the values of both GardaWorld and SFU.
  • Enforce standards for conduct, uniform appearance, and professional demeanor.
  • Provide backup coverage for patrol duties and emergency response when needed.
  • Safeguard University-issued keys, access media, and sensitive materials
  • Undertake other duties as necessary
Qualifications for Site Supervisor
  • Be authorized to work in Canada
  • Hold a valid BC Security License
  • This supervisor position is a key step, but certainly not the last.
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in the security industry.
  • Valid BC Security Worker License.
  • Occupational First Aid Level 2 (OFA2) certification.
  • Class 5 driving license
  • Mental Health First Aid (Canada) certification
  • ICS100
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in report writing and basic computer applications (Word, Excel, email).
  • Familiarity with SFU site-specific SOPs and infrastructure (desirable).
  • TCP certifications (desirable)
  • Additional certifications in conflict resolution, and customer service are considered assets.
  • After-hours on-call availability required
