Job summary

Ledcor is seeking a skilled Mining Manager to oversee all aspects of ongoing mining projects at a site-based location in Newfoundland and Labrador. The role leads a team of mine supervisors, maintenance supervisors and mine planners to align with the project schedule, scope, and budget.

Responsibilities include coordinating mining, drill and blast, maintenance, and engineering, developing schedules and budgets, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of project management experience in mining.
• Strong knowledge of hard rock open-pit mining construction.
• Experience leading project teams.
• Proficiency with project management software and MS Office.
• Drafting/mining planning software experience is a plus.
• Ability to read mine plans and contracts.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Safety compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of mine planning and mine construction projects to achieve overall mine plan targets.
• Coordinate mining, drill and blast, maintenance, and engineering for a successful operation.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Manage communications with client, internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Prepare and track reports, change orders, RFIs, and other project docs.
• Ensure activities comply with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Perform site visits to monitor progress and resolve issues on-site.
• Assist in tender documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders as required.
