Could you be the full-time Signaling Installation Engineering Designer in Toronto, ON we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your electrical engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and detail-oriented teammates. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the transformation of Canada’s busiest public transit system, contributing to the On-Corridor Works project. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Field Operations, Site Managers, BIM Coordinators), ensure compliance with EHS and regulatory standards, and deliver exceptional installation engineering solutions. You’ll specifically take care of preparing installation engineering deliverables such as drawings, specifications, and work method statements, but also support field teams with design modifications and ensure proper documentation for handover processes.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing installation engineering deliverables, including drawings, documentation, and specifications
  • Producing installation design drawings, such as cable plans, route drawings, and method statements
  • Supporting field teams by reviewing deliverables and preparing design modifications or change requests
  • Reviewing interface drawings and providing equipment requirements for space allocation
  • Preparing material specifications and ensuring product acceptance forms are submitted
  • Performing site surveys and preparing as-built documentation
  • Collaborating with BIM Coordinators and Modelers for integrated deliverables
  • Ensuring proper storage and maintenance of project drawings
  • Alerting stakeholders to concerns that may impact quality, cost, or delivery timelines
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • P. Eng certification or in-progress designation (preferred)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD drafting tools
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design (project and/or construction experience appreciated)
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Basic knowledge of railway products and services across different market segments (desirable)
  • Familiarity with BIM procedures and tools (desirable)
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments, including uneven ground and adverse weather conditions
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by project needs
