Overview
  • Requisition Title: SIA - CHM120H5S Chemical Principles II (TA Administrator)
  • Position Type: TA Administrator
  • Course Title: CHM120H5S Chemical Principles II
  • Course Description: Building on the subject matter of CHM110H5, molecular events are studied at the microscopic level. Topics include atomic and molecular structure, intermolecular forces of attraction, reaction kinetics, and organic chemical reactions and mechanisms.
  • Number of Positions (est): 1 position. Positions are dependent on actual course enrolment, and are not guaranteed.
  • Course Enrolment (est): 800 students
  • Hours of work (est): 81.5 hours
  • Class schedule: In-person delivery
  • Sessional dates of appointment: January 2026 – April 2026
  • Salary: CUPE3902 Unit 3 Salaries. The rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
  • Qualifications: Ph.D. in Chemistry. Sound knowledge in contents covered in the course required. Good communication skills are required as well. Prior experience as a TA Administrator for a large course required.
  • Description of Duties: Duties will include revising/designing new experiments, producing quiz papers, providing course instructions and materials to TAs on PRA and TUT classes, coordinating the TA schedule and the signing of TA's DDAH forms, administration of make-up/late and missed course work, ensuring that students registered with AccessAbility are given proper accommodation, conducting office hours, record keeping of marks, and monitoring course email and responding and delegating appropriately.
