A leading Canadian university in Toronto is seeking a Laboratory Demonstrator/Tutorial Leader for the CHM110H5S - Chemical Principles I course. The role involves leading tutorials, conducting lab demonstrations, and assessing student work. Candidates must hold a B.Sc. in Chemistry and possess good communication skills. Previous experience as a TA/SIA is preferable. The appointment runs from January 2026 to April 2026 and applications are encouraged from diverse backgrounds.

Course Title: CHM110H5S - Chemical Principles I
Course Description: Matter and its transformations are studied at the macroscopic level. Topics include stoichiometry, phases of matter, equilibria, thermodynamics and electrochemistry.
Number of Positions (est): 4 positions. * Positions are dependent on actual course enrolment, and are not guaranteed.
Sessional dates of appointment: January 2026 – April 2026
Qualifications: B.Sc. in Chemistry. Sound knowledge in contents covered in the course required. Previous TA/SIA experience marking assignments, quizzes, tests and/or final exam and working with undergraduate students in Chemistry tutorial and lab setting an asset to be able to demonstrate and deliver course content consistently within the UofT's standards. Good communication skills are required as well.
Description of Duties: Duties will include laboratory demonstrations, leading tutorials, marking laboratory reports, and/or quizzes/assignments. May also include invigilation of term tests and/or final exam.
