Job summary

AMD in Markham, Ontario is offering a software engineering internship/co-op for students in Computer Engineering, CS or related fields. You'll work full-time during the co-op term, gain real-world experience, and collaborate with AMD engineers on active projects.

You will build and maintain software applications, learn the full development lifecycle, automate scripts, and develop debugging skills while contributing to meaningful AI/software initiatives.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Canada-based university for a Bachelors degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of C/C++ and scripting languages; general software concepts.
• Familiar with UNIX/Linux, databases, and basic cloud/web concepts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software engineers to build and maintain applications.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design to testing.
• Create scripts to automate development tasks and improve processes.
• Learn debugging methods and document technical reports as needed.

Job Details

Location: Markham, Ontario, Canada

Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time 37.5 hrs a week, either in a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term.

Winter Duration

• 4 Months: January 11, 2027 to April 23, 2027
• 8 Months: January 11, 2027 to August 20, 2027

Summer Duration

• 4 Months: May 3, 2027 to August 20, 2027
• 8 Months: May 3, 2027 to December 10, 2027

Fall Duration

• 4 Months: September 13, 2027 to December 10, 2027

What You Will Be Doing

We are seeking highly motivated Software Engineering intern/co-op to join our team at AMD. In this role -

We will assign you responsibilities in which you will work closely with our software engineers to build and maintain our software applications

• We will provide training on the full software creation process, from design and built to testing and deployment
• We will encourage you to build scripts that automate some of our software development process
• We will help you learn debugging methodologies to investigate the root cause of software issues
• In certain projects we may have your involvement in crafting technical/functional documents and reports as needed

Who We Are Looking For

• You are currently enrolled in a Canada based University into a Bachelors degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
• If you have knowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply -
