Job summary

RESA Power is seeking a Shop Worker to support shop operations and customer orders. This role involves assembling steel frames, installing mounting equipment, insulators, and panels for power distribution equipment, following blueprints and 3D Autodesk designs.

You will perform inspections, maintain customer relationships, and contribute to process improvements. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, hands-on mechanical training, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or enrolled in post-secondary apprenticeship or 1 year experience.
  • Post secondary training in a hands on mechanical program or fabrication/manufacturing/machine shop experience is an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, information lookup, and reporting.
  • Able to communicate orally and in writing; follow directions and work in a team.
  • Customer focused; able to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects.

  • Perform incoming and in-process inspections to ensure products meet quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Maintain strong internal and external customer relationships through quality workmanship and timely completion of work.
  • Demonstrate a continual effort to improve operations and streamline processes.
  • Communicate with PM/Manager for problem resolution and information transfer on jobs.
  • Work with a team to complete work assignments and meet customer needs.
  • Maintain a neat and safe work area and follow safety rules.
  • Work nights and weekends as business needs dictate.
  • Complete other duties assigned.

Job description

Under the direction of Shop Leadership, the Shop Worker receives and carries out work assignments from management and internal customers that support shop operations and the completion of customer orders.

Responsibilities
  • Assembling steel frames, installing mounting equipment, insulators, bus bars and/or panels for power distribution equipment like switchgear.
  • Utilizehand tools, power tools, measuring devices, fabrication and paint equipment safely and effectively
  • Using blueprints, drawings, work orders and digital designs like those in 3D Autodesk as instructions for assembling equipment and completing projects.
  • Perform incoming and in-process inspections to ensure products meet quality standards and customer expectations
  • Maintainstrong internal and external customer relationships through quality workmanship andtimelycompletion of work
  • Demonstrate a continual effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively with other departments to provide a quality and seamless operation.
  • Communicate with PM, Manager, or other designee for effective problem resolution and transfer of pertinent information on jobs in process and completed work.
  • Work with members of a team to effectively complete work assignments. Receive information from team members and/or leadershipregardingcustomer needs and product requirements andutilizethis information to effectively complete jobs.
  • Maintaina neat and orderly work area;observeall company, local, and federal safety rules, location and company best practices, and company policies and procedures.
  • Work nights and weekends as business needs dictate.
  • Complete other duties assigned.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Enrolled in post-secondary apprenticeship or 1 year experience
