JOB TITLE: Shop Supervisor EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time LOCATION: Thompson, Manitoba

About the Position

The Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and controlling production within the workshop. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coordinating the repair and exchange process, unit rebuilds, project tracking and scheduling (timelines, resources, task assignments, etc.). The Supervisor will also be expected to support the field team in terms of scheduling and resource management.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Actively support the goals of the plant and company by managing, prioritizing, and planning repair, rebuild, and assembly activities.
  • Ensure daily task distribution based on the established schedule.
  • Perform daily follow-ups and reporting to maintain a high level of efficiency and discipline regarding the tasks and objectives.
  • Work in partnership with the Product Support Manager to ensure all customer rebuilds and repairs are scheduled and carried out according to customer expectations.
  • Coordinate planning sessions with key stakeholders (i.e., Product Support and Sales) to ensure production timelines, requirements, and aftermarket distribution are met efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement measures to reduce costs, improve repair, rebuild and assembly methods, equipment and personnel performance, and product quality.
  • Partner with the Quality and Engineering departments to ensure compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional groups (i.e., Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, Service, and Quality) to achieve company and departmental goals.
Education
  • High school diploma or certificate of completion;
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field is considered an asset.
Experience
  • Ability to plan and prioritize while working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Demonstrated flexibility in shifting priorities and adapting to tight deadlines;
  • Bilingual (French and English).
