Job summary

Sonoco Canada is seeking a reliable Shipper Helper to support paper mill operations in Ontario. The role emphasizes safe forklift operation, loading/unloading, shipping tasks, and accurate data entry in a fast-paced warehouse setting.

You will collaborate with Lead Hand and Mill Supervisor to ensure inventory integrity, quality control, and timely product movement while maintaining a zero-injury culture and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Assist loading/unloading and shipping tasks.
• Complete paperwork and data entry accurately.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe and efficient operation of a Lift truck
• Assist in loading and unloading of trucks and trailers
• Assist in shipping as directed
• Back up Lead Hand when required
• Accurate completion of all paperwork and data entry
• Placement of product in warehouse
• Use computer programs to compile accurate information and/or reports
• Coordinate changes/adjustments that will affect team member’s areas of responsibility
• Participate and adhere to safety culture and report unsafe conditions
• Maintain good housekeeping standards

$32.45/Hour Monday to Friday (Days) 30 + Hours/Week Responsible to the Paper Mill Shipper Lead Hand/Mill Supervisor, the Shipper Helper is responsible for the safe and efficient performance of all duties, while controlling raw materials received and stock control. All employees are mandated to create a zero-injury environment and engage actively in all areas of SPS.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Possess a valid forklift operator’s license
• Knowledge of customer loading patterns on trailer
• Computer skills i.e., Microsoft Office programs
• General math skills
• RF Scanner experience would be an asset
• Class A-Z License would be desirable
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job
• Are 18 years of age or older
• Have Grade 12 education or equivalent (Proof Required)
