Qualifications

• 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Credentials including Transport Canada Security Awareness Training and Watchkeeping Mate Certificate with Command Endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Command and operate ships or vessels to transport passengers and cargo.
• Supervise and co-ordinate activities of deck crews.
• Ensure safety and comfort of passengers.
• Determine geographical position using navigational instruments, maps, and charts.
• Direct and oversee the loading and unloading of cargo.
• Maintain vessel's navigational instruments and equipment.
