Job summary

Estevan invites applications for a temporary 14-month term as Shared Services – Account Clerk – Accounts Payable. You will receive, prepare, and process payments, and support the Financial Services team under the City Treasurer.

The role requires Grade 12 and a 2-year accounting credential, plus at least three years of relevant experience. You will perform GST/PST reporting, supplier reconciliations, and maintain records, with CUPE Local 726 union terms.

Responsibilities

Position Title: Shared Services – Account Clerk – Accounts Payable

Reports To: City Treasurer

Number of Positions: 1 (one)

Length of Position: Temporary Full-Time (14-month term)

Summary: Receives, prepares, and processes accounts for payment.

Duties

• Coordinates, receives, prepares, and processes accounts for payment
• Prepares monthly GST and PST reports as well as annual year-end reports and filing of the Federal GST Rebate Application
• Reconciles other accounts such as:
  • Land sales and lot options
  • Performance deposits and holdbacks
  • All prepaid accounts including land titles
• Maintains supplier list and reconciles monthly supplier statements
• Initiates and performs corrective action for accounts payable errors
• Responds to requests for information in a timely manner
• Maintains required files and records according to established principles
• Provides cross coverage for other Financial Services positions

Salary

Based on a salary of $ 35.12 per hour, as per 2026 CUPE rates.

This is a Union (CUPE Local 726) position and shall be filled according to the terms of the collective agreement between the city and CUPE (Local 726).
