THE ROLE

Canadian Linen and Uniform Service is looking for an experienced full‑time sewer who is comfortable working independently or collaboratively in a team environment. Primary duties include operating industrial single needle sewing machine, running orders, and meeting daily deadlines while maintaining overall quality.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Efficient and safe operation of a single needle sewing machine consistently meeting goals.
  • Maintains understanding of the operating procedure in the department.
  • Trimming & finishing goods with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Performs quality production at reasonable speeds, taking full advantage of the equipment available.
  • Ensures that targets are met for quality, productivity, and lead time with minimal misprints.
  • Make necessary machine adjustments with minor downtime. Changing thread and needles. Fixing tensions.
  • Operates, maintains, and performs routine service on any equipment used in the completion of these tasks.
  • Maintains a clean, well‑organized work area, and adheres to safe work practice.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience using a sewing machine
  • Able to identify garment specifications (i.e. color, size, style, location)
  • Ability to work safely with moving machinery
  • Experience in a fast‑paced warehouse environment desirable
  • Strong attention to detail
