About the Role

We are Seeking a Lead Educator at our Seton location who possess a strong understanding of child development, exceptional engagement skills, and a dedication to fostering positive relationships with both children and colleagues. The ideal candidate will be dependable, adaptable, fluent in English, and exhibit outstanding communication and multitasking abilities. This individual must have strong leadership and classroom management skills. Prior experience is required, and candidates must possess or be willing to obtain Alberta Child Care certification levels 1, 2, or 3, along with current criminal record check (with vulnerable sector search) and first aid certification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creating and implementing engaging programming tailored to the interests and needs of the children.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety within the environment.
  • Leading and supporting children in integrated learning and recreational activities.
  • Actively supervising and engaging with children while ensuring their well-being.
  • Providing regular communication to parents through monthly newsletters and daily updates.
  • Cultivating positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Adhering to Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Regulations and Active Start's policies and procedures to ensure quality care.
Qualifications
  • Level 1, 2 or 3 Child Care Certification (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Professional, adaptable, and fluent in English
  • Proficiency in computer applications and administrative systems
  • Knowledge of Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations (preferred)
  • Current Criminal Record Check and First Aid Certification (or willingness)
