How does theoretical thought, philosophy, and discourse interact with and operate within contemporary art? This course provides a survey, albeit far from exhaustive, of theoretical issues, methodologies, and trajectories active in the arts today.

Salary:

$9,820.70 for Sessional Lecturer I ($10,510.04 for SLI Long Term);

$10,510.04 for Sessional Lecturer II ($10,760.28 for SLII Long Term);

$10,760.28 for Sessional Lecturer III ($11,030.36 for SLIII Long Term), inclusive of vacation pay

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail

Minimum Qualifications: MA or MFA (or equivalent graduate degree) required with previous teaching experience. Strong academic, curatorial, or exhibition history and currently practicing artist/curator/scholar. Applicants may be asked to supply references.

Preferred Qualifications: Internationally recognized practice.

Duties: Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.
