Course Code and Title: MGED02H3: Advanced Microeconomic Theory

Number of Openings: 1

Lecture Section: Monday 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Course Description: An upper‑level extension of the ideas studied in MGEC02H3. The course offers a more sophisticated treatment of such topics as equilibrium, welfare economics, risk and uncertainty, strategic and repeated interactions, agency problems, and screening and signalling problems. Enrolment is limited to students registered in programs requiring this course.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: The candidate is expected to be of superior teaching ability, with suitable academic and/or professional qualifications (Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidacy in economics) and mastery of the subject matter. The successful applicant will have clearly demonstrated teaching excellence in the subject matter through previous experience teaching this or similar courses, the ability to engage diverse learners, strong organizational and communication skills, and experience with relevant learning technologies and online teaching platforms.

Preferred qualifications: Significant experience in applying the subject matter in a practical environment, an academic record of recent research in the area covered by the course, including peer‑reviewed publications in academic journals.

Duties

All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration, and marking of assignments, tests, and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours; maintaining reasonable availability for student and administrative contact; and supervision of T.A. assigned to course.

Estimated TA Support (Hours)

Approximately 50 minutes per student enrolled over 30.

Sessional Lecturer II‑Long Term rate $10,760.28. Sessional Lecturer III rate $10,760.28. Sessional Lecturer III‑Long Term rate $11,030.36.
