A public university in Mississauga is seeking a sessional lecturer to teach SOC433H5S: Power and Cultural Politics. The role involves course design and delivery, evaluation, and supervision of TAs. Estimated TA support: 100 hours (subject to enrolment)
Class schedule (Lectures): Thursdays 11am - 1pm
Sessional dates of appointment: January 1 - April 30, 2026
Salary: Minimum stipend $9,820.70 for a Half course (inclusive of vacation pay)

Minimum qualification:
Candidates must have at least an PhD in Sociology or equivalent as demonstrated by referred/published research, strong academic record, previous experience teaching a similar course, and evidence of teaching excellence in the subject covered in the course are preferred.

Description of duties: All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours; supervising TA’s assigned to course; order all necessary readings.
