Job summary

The University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor in the Department of Electrical and Software Engineering to teach ENCM 467 - Digital Electronic Circuits for Winter 2027 (Jan 1–Apr 30, 2027) at the Calgary campus.

The successful candidate will have a master’s degree in electrical, computer or software engineering and demonstrate strong teaching ability with relevant subject matter experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in electrical, computer or software engineering.
• Strong background in the subject matter related to ENCM 467.
• Very good previous teaching performance or potential for excellent teaching.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures for ENCM 467 - Digital Electronic Circuits.
• Lead labs and tutorials as scheduled (Labs Mon 8:00–10:50, Tutorial 12:00–12:50).
• Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.

The Department of Electrical and Software Engineering at the University of Calgary has an opening for a Sessional Instructor for the following course in Winter 2027 (January 1, 2027 - April 30, 2027).

ENCM 467 - Digital Electronic Circuits

Course Description

MOS transistor fundamentals (D.C. characteristics, large signal model, transient behavior). Transistor level implementation of standard MOS logic gates. Other MOS logic blocks. MOS memory (static and dynamic). Interfacing various logic families. Introduction to integrated circuit design.

Course Schedule

Lecture: MWF 11:00 am - 11:50 am

Labs: Monday 8:00 am - 10:50 am

Tutorial: Monday 12:00 pm - 12:50 pm

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be expected to have earned at least a master's degree in electrical, Computer or Software engineering and must have a demonstrated background in the subject matter related to this course. The successful candidate must also have very good previous teaching performance or show the potential for very good to excellent teaching ability. It is strongly desired that the candidate is registered as a Professional Engineer in a Canadian Province.
