Job summary

A prominent university in Peel Region, Mississauga is seeking a qualified individual to assist in marking and invigilating exams. Candidates should preferably be Masters or PhD students in Economics or Strategic Management. This position offers an hourly wage starting at $54.27 plus vacation pay and requires attendance on Tuesdays from 9 AM to 12 PM during the session from January 5 to April 30, 2026.

Job description

This course examines how firms select markets, compete with each other, and organize themselves internally for success. It studies the actions of firms that are designed to reduce competition by current and potential rivals. The course enables students to gain a more in-depth understanding of and appreciation for business strategy using an economics-based approach to this important topic. MMI1070 is taught using a combination of case studies, readings, team tasks and interactive lecture-style discussion. Case discussions will focus on interpreting the predicament facing decision-makers within particular firms, analyzing this predicament using conceptual frameworks drawn from economics as well as other management disciplines.

Description of Duties
  • Marking of tests, exams, and assignments (under supervision), having done suitable preparation.
  • Invigilating the exams.
  • Maintenance of the gradebook as well as the attendance and participation record.
  • Use of Quercus as necessary.
  • Consult with students by email and/or meet with students on an occasional basis if necessary to discuss assignments, tests, etc.

Preferably a Masters level student or PhD student in Economics or Strategic Management.
