Job description

We are currently looking for a permanent Industrial Service Technician for a company specializing in industrial maintenance of lift equipment and overhead dock doors throughout the lower mainland.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on equipment and carry out efficient, high-quality repairs to minimize client downtime
  • Prepare service orders, work orders, and client quotes with accuracy — administrative capability is a key part of this role
  • Complete 50% preventive maintenance and 50% repair work; major rebuilds are handled back at the in-house shop
  • Manage your own schedule, track overtime accurately, and maintain a high standard of time management across all client visits
  • Communicate professionally with clients at every visit — your interpersonal skills matter as much as your technical ones
  • Handle unexpected situations on-site with composure and find practical solutions quickly
  • Maintain the company truck in good condition and manage your own tool inventory (personal tools required — $250/year tool allowance provided)

  • Dock Door Technician: 1–2 years of experience in overhead or dock door service — mechanical and electrical aptitude required; technical test administered during hiring (minimum 50% score required)
  • Strong customer service mindset — you handle difficult situations calmly and professionally
  • Excellent time management — you plan your day, track your hours, and keep your clients informed
  • Comfortable with administrative tasks: service orders, quoting, and work order completion
  • TIG or MIG welding experience — an asset for both roles
  • Valid driver’s license required (company truck provided, kept at home)
  • Must provide own hand tools — $250 annual tool allowance provided by employer
  • English required
  • Canadian work authorization required — work permits not accepted
