Job summary

Ryko Solutions in Calgary, AB is seeking a Service Technician to perform preventative maintenance, repair vehicle wash equipment, and install replacement parts for RYKO, MacNeil, and competitors' equipment. You will train customers on basic equipment maintenance and provide exceptional service.

The role requires 3 years of experience, a clean driving record, ability to read manuals, and strong communication. Local candidates in the Calgary area preferred; on-site work with lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Service Technician.
  • Clean driving record with limited violations in past 5 years.
  • Ability to read manuals and use basic math and writing skills.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service work on vehicle wash equipment and accessories including troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, and mechanical problems to ascertain the needed corrective action.
  • Replace, repair, or adjust parts and systems as necessary.
  • Inspect, lubricate, and check wax and detergent levels as applicable under preventative maintenance contracts.
  • Run equipment through cycles to ensure proper functioning of the system.
  • Advise customers on necessary service and replacement of worn parts.
  • Inspects equipment after installation to ensure proper function.
  • Provide information and training to customers on operation and maintenance.
  • Develop rapport with customers and strive for outstanding service and satisfaction.
  • Deliver parts, chemicals, or supplies as required.
  • Complete work orders and time logs; maintain inventory and report levels.

Job Summary

As a Service Technician, you will operate on‑site to perform preventative maintenance, repair equipment, and install replacement parts related to RYKO, MacNeil, and competitor's vehicle wash equipment and accessories. The Service Technician will also train customers on basic equipment maintenance.

Job Duties
  • Perform service work on vehicle wash equipment and accessories including troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, and mechanical problems to ascertain the needed corrective action.
  • Replace, repair, or adjust parts and systems as necessary.
  • In accordance with preventative maintenance contracts, inspect, lubricate, and check wax and detergent levels as applicable.
  • Run equipment through cycles to ensure the complete system is functioning properly.
  • Advises customers of necessary service work and make recommendations regarding replacement of worn or damaged parts, systems, etc.
  • After unit installation, inspect equipment to ensure proper function.
  • Provide information and training to customers regarding proper operation and general maintenance of equipment.
  • Develop and maintain good rapport with customers, constantly striving to provide outstanding service and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver parts, chemicals, or supplies to customers as required.
  • Complete work orders, expense reports, and daily/weekly time logs.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of equipment changes or modifications through maintenance manuals, service bulletins, how‑to videos in our Learning Management System (LMS), or engineering documents.
  • Maintain proper inventory of parts on service vehicle and in warehouse; report field inventory levels as required.
  • Keep Service and District Manager informed of all significant problems, progress, or barriers to success.
  • Comply with all applicable OHSA, ESA, and other provincial regulatory laws, as well as company safety policies.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Installation/Service Manager.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Service Technician in a related area.
  • Clean driving record with no more than 3 moving violations within the past 5 years; no more than 2 preventable, at‑fault accidents within the past 5 years.
  • No impaired driving convictions within the past 5 years and no charges currently pending.
  • Ability to use basic math and writing skills.
  • Demonstrable interest and aptitude in mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work through school or hobby interest, including using meters and ACDC power supply.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret equipment, operation, and maintenance manuals and instructions.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team.
  • Forklift experience and/or ability to obtain forklift certification.
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction and ability to adapt/respond to different personalities.
  • Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Intermediate computer skills, and experience with Microsoft and Google Suite programs.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Adequate sight to read blueprints, other engineering documents, and/or work orders.
  • Local to the Calgary, AB area.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift items of light to heavy weight, up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend intermittently and repeatedly, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, perform repetitive motions using hands to grasp, push, pull, or do fine manipulations, climb ladders, and stand for prolonged periods.
Hourly Wage Range

CAD$25–32 based on experience.
