Job summary

Levitt-Safety in Saskatoon is seeking a Service Technician - Fire Suppression to service and maintain vehicle fire suppression systems and other Fire & Life Safety equipment at customer sites. This hands-on, field-based role provides opportunities to develop technical skills while working directly with customers.

No prior fire suppression experience is required; we provide training for the right mechanical mindset.

Qualifications

  • Mechanically inclined with interest in hands-on technical work.
  • Experience with vehicles/heavy equipment is an asset.
  • Basic electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude.
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools.
  • Experience or training in fire protection or related systems is an asset.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently in the field and manage priorities.
  • Valid driver's license and clean abstract.
  • Willing to complete pre-employment and background checks.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain VFSS and safety equipment.
  • Perform inspections and testing per standards and manufacturer requirements.
  • Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective action.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues using tools.
  • Deliver site-specific training to customers.
  • Complete accurate service reports and digital records.
  • Build relationships with customers and provide reliable service.
  • Represent Levitt-Safety at customer sites.
  • Work independently in the field and manage schedule.

Are you mechanically inclined and looking for a hands-on career where you can build your technical skills while working directly with customers?

Levitt-Safety is looking for a Service Technician - Fire Suppression to join our team in Saskatoon. In this field-based role, you'll service and maintain vehicle fire suppression systems (VFSS) and other Fire & Life Safety equipment at customer sites.

You don't need previous fire suppression experience - we're open to training the right person who has strong mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and a safety-first mindset.

What You'll Do
  • Inspect, service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain vehicle fire suppression systems and other Fire & Life Safety equipment
  • Perform inspections and testing in accordance with applicable standards and manufacturer requirements
  • Identify deficiencies and provide clear recommendations for corrective action and ongoing maintenance
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues using hand and power tools
  • Deliver site-specific training to customers and end users
  • Complete accurate service reports, inspection documentation, and digital records
  • Build strong relationships with customers and provide professional, reliable service
  • Represent Levitt-Safety as the face of the company at customer sites
  • Work independently in the field while managing your schedule and priorities
What We're Looking For
  • Mechanically inclined with a strong interest in hands-on technical work
  • Experience working with vehicles, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, agricultural equipment, or in a mechanical/shop environment is an asset
  • Basic electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Experience or training in fire protection, fire suppression, or related systems is an asset
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Comfortable using mobile devices, technology, and digital reporting tools
  • Able to work independently, troubleshoot problems, and manage priorities in the field
  • Valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract
  • Willing and able to complete required pre-employment and periodic drug/alcohol testing and criminal background checks
  • A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills

Physical & Safety Requirements

This is a field-based, safety-sensitive role. You'll be expected to:

  • Maintain a strong safety-focused mindset and follow all company, customer, and regulatory requirements
  • Complete inspections accurately and submit all required service reports and documentation on time
  • Identify and communicate safety concerns, equipment deficiencies, and required corrective actions
  • Work safely around vehicles, heavy equipment, and industrial environments, including confined spaces and elevated work areas
  • Safely use hand and power tools and lift/carry equipment as required
