Job summary

Lincoln Electric Company of Canada Limited seeks a Service Technician to support a global customer base from Hamilton. The role involves on-call coverage, installation of aftermarket parts, preventative maintenance coaching, and preparing quotes and service documentation.

You will work with ABB and Fanuc robotics experiences, travel as required, and communicate clearly with customers while upholding Lincoln Electric’s safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary experience or 5+ years of related service technician experience
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Service Technician is required
  • Strong mechanical skills including conveyor repairs, leveling and replacement of wear items (bearings, chains, sprockets, etc.)
  • Strong electrical skills including troubleshooting low voltage and 480V
  • Strong pneumatic skills
  • Must be able to read mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Familiar with ABB and Fanuc Robotic Systems
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools, multimeter, etc.
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Current and valid driver’s license
  • Experience in steel fabrication industry and related software design packages is an asset
  • Available by phone or email for emergency purposes outside regular hours per Right to Disconnect Policy

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for global customer base by telephone, email etc.
  • Periodic Overnight, Weekend and/or Holiday On Call support via 24/7 phone system
  • Install aftermarket parts/products; test to ensure they are functioning to standard
  • Educate customers on maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule
  • Prepare quotes and sales orders for spare parts and consumables
  • Complete detailed reports and service tickets documenting work that has been performed
  • Communicate to customer all service-related work and proactive recommendations to increase up-time
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers
  • Facilitate training of new hires
  • Prepare and maintain up-to-date documentation
  • Develop processes and procedures to guide customers, training and customer service groups
  • Conduct general duties and projects as assigned by Operations Manager in a timely and professional manner
  • Participate in meetings for teamwork and cross-department collaboration
  • Contribute to profitability by initiating and implementing continuous improvement strategies
  • Adhere to Lincoln Electric Environmental Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct general duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Service Manager

Major Responsibilities

  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools, multi-meter, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours around a changing schedule
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational, interpersonal and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Current and valid driver's license
  • Experience and/or knowledge in the steel fabrication industry and related software design packages is an asset
