Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Service Supervisor to lead service technicians in equipment repair, installation, and operations, ensuring customer satisfaction across sites. The role includes recruiting, training, and coordinating a regular training program while managing dispatches, site installations, and departmental budgets.

Candidate will have five years in service management or equivalent, a Bachelor’s degree or trade school, strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills,

Qualifications

  • Five years in a Service Management related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent leadership skills to enhance team productivity and standards of work produced.
  • Excellent computer skills: knowledge of and proficiency in common office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and strong conflict management skills.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and background.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and directs the service technicians to effectively perform the functions of equipment repair, installation, start‑up, operation, and other duties as required to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires and oversees training service technicians as required to meet workload demands, and company or customer expectations and requirements.
  • Establishes and maintains a regular training program to ensure that service technicians are properly trained on the latest service techniques and safety procedures for equipment and general working conditions.
  • Conducts group and one‑on‑one meetings with technicians as required for training, evaluation and general communication; participates and/or conducts regularly scheduled departmental safety/informational meetings.
  • Dispatches and assigns service calls and tickets to service technicians based on territory, skill level, efficiency and training requirements.
  • Participates in installations for new and existing clients for all business lines which includes but is not limited to commercial coffee/beverage equipment, vending machines, coolers and freezers and performs site inspections prior to installation.
  • Develops and monitors budgets, goals and objectives to insure departmental profitability.
  • Specifies and makes sure that required parts are ordered in timely fashion to ensure work deadlines are met.
  • Ensures that all company/department policies are being followed by all service technicians.
  • Oversees assigned service vehicles, monitors vehicles to ensure they are being maintained and operated as required and used according to company policy.
  • Maintains the fleet of vehicles and ensures vehicles are serviced as needed. Assesses fleet requirements and completes administrative fleet duties; valid license plate stickers, insurance, vehicle maintenance and gas cards.
  • Keeps current on technician training and maintains training records to ensure personnel maintain proficiency in preventive maintenance, start‑up, trouble‑shooting, and repair of supported equipment.
  • Works with other departmental managers to meet company and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as required to maintain efficient department operations.

Job description

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. This role includes a car allowance and a company gas card to cover fuel expenses incurred for authorized business travel. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Further details regarding our total rewards program will be shared by the Talent Acquisition team during the hiring process. Canadian work experience is not a requirement for this role.
