Service Operations Manager – HVAC (Residential/Multi-Family)

Lock Search Group is partnering with a well-respecting mechanical contractor in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning space, servicing both the Residential and Commercial markets. They are looking for a Service Operations Manager with a track record of success from Service Management experience directly from the HVAC sector to lead their Service and Installation departments.

The incoming Service Operations Manager will provide key leadership in delivering outstanding service and optimizing technician performance across the HVAC operations across the BC market.

In this role, you will oversee the daily field activities, including technician supervision, scheduling, installation quality, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on operational leader who thrives in a fast‑paced setting and is committed to driving safety, efficiency, and service excellence, while continuously supporting team growth and training.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee HVAC service and installation activities, ensuring smooth day-to-day execution and operational excellence.
  • Manage technician routing and scheduling to maximize productivity and meet customer commitments.
  • Monitor KPIs such as completion rates, call-backs, cycle times, and utilization to ensure efficiency and accountability.
  • Maintain and optimize inventory, tools, fleet assets, and vendor coordination to support seamless field operations.
  • Enforce adherence to TSSA, ESA, MOL, and internal safety and quality standards.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate HVAC Technicians and Installers to build high-performing, customer-focused teams.
  • Support implementation of field systems and digital tools that improve visibility, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Conduct audits, review customer feedback, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Care, HR, and Finance to align operational goals and resolve escalations.
  • Assist with labour forecasting, budget tracking, and cost optimization for sustainable growth.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Strong annual income between salary + bonus ($180K+ combined)
    • Majority of this income will be produced from a healthy salary

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive Service Management and/or Operations Management experience from within the HVAC‑R market – preferably with previous experience with a BC-based HVAC Mechanical Contractor
  • Demonstrated success leading large technician teams in dynamic, customer-focused environments (both service and installation)
  • Solid technical knowledge of HVAC systems, installation processes, service operations, and applicable safety regulations.
  • Understanding of permits within the Province of British Columbia
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and analytical problem‑solving abilities.
  • Proficient with scheduling software, CRM systems, and performance monitoring tools.
  • Outstanding customer-facing acumen with the ability to produce and deliver technical training presentations to customers and co-workers
  • Comfortable using multiple computer applications
  • Valid Driver’s License
