Job summary

An automotive service company in Timmins is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead the expanding service team. In this role, you will ensure high-quality service and repairs, manage department sales and efficiency, and oversee staff performance. Ideal candidates will have 5 years of experience in the automotive service environment and possess excellent interpersonal and management skills. This position requires a strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and the ability to analyze and report service metrics.

Qualifications

Timmins Hyundai is seeking anAutomotive Service Manager to lead our expanding service team in order to meet the needs of our growing customer base.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure high quality service and repairs areprovided to customers.
  • Manage the Service Department to achievesales, profits, and efficiency by maximizing production, controllingcosts, marketing, building a clientele and establishing solid employeerelationships.
  • Direct and schedule activities of all staff.
  • Forecast goals and objectives for thedepartment and endeavor to meet them.
  • Monitor the flow of work in the ServiceDepartment and intervene as required to ensure work is completed properly.
  • Maintain service records and reportingprocedures required by the manufacturer and general management.
  • Observe repair order trends, such as number ofrepair orders completed, number of items per repair order, and dollarsales per repair order.
  • Plan, analyze and manage shop capacity and howdepartment skills match customer requirements.
  • Ensure that customers’ service files arecurrent and readily available.
  • Review completed jobs for quality controlpurposes.
  • Act as liaison with factory representatives.
  • Motivate, guide, and evaluate performance ofservice department staff.
  • Provide technical knowledge to employees, asrequired.
  • Follow all company and manufacturer policies,directives, and procedures.
  • Ensure staff compliance with required healthand safety regulations.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
