Job summary

Farm Boy Inc. is seeking a Store Leadership role to partner with the Store Manager and Front-End Specialist to deliver an exceptional fresh shopping experience. You will own front-end operations, build a high-performing team, and coach staff to deliver outstanding service in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will promote compliance, manage safety standards, and oversee daily front-end deliverables, including scheduling, payroll support, and store cleanliness. French language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive supervisory or management experience in a similar retail role.
  • Completion of Public Health Food Handler certification, Smart Serve, and Level A First Aid & CPR, or commitment to complete within six months.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service while supporting Farm Boy’s vision of the best fresh shopping experience.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager and Front-End Specialist to execute strategies that achieve business goals and operational success.
  • Build a culture of trust and engagement through coaching and regular team huddles.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and motivate a high-performing front-end team with continual development.
  • Safeguard financial integrity through safe management, refunds, cashier reconciliations, and float audits.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and government regulations at all times.
  • Oversee front-end operations including cash service, scheduling, payroll support, and cleanliness.
  • Participate in store coverage as Manager on Duty, including opening/closing and emergency support.
  • Oversee Floral Department operations, including merchandising, inventory control, and financial performance.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities to support overall store success.

In this leadership role, you’ll partner with the Store Manager and Front-End Specialist to bring Farm Boy’s vision of delivering the best fresh shopping experience to life. You’ll take ownership of front-end operations while building a high-performing, engaged team that provides outstanding service to every customer. Through coaching, collaboration, and strong operational oversight, you’ll help create a store environment rooted in trust, teamwork, and excellence.   • Build a culture of trust and engagement through one-on-one coaching and regular team huddles that share goals, celebrate wins, exchange product knowledge, and encourage feedback.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and motivate a high-performing front-end team through interviewing, performance reviews, coaching, recognition, and ongoing development — all while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and trust.
  • Safeguard financial integrity through effective safe management, documentation, and record retention, overseeing refunds, cashier over/short reporting, and float audits.
  • Promote compliance with company policies and government regulations as communicated through management meetings, operational manuals, employee handbooks, and written directives.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to all Safe Food Handling and Health & Safety policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee daily front-end operations and deliverables including cash service, overrides, cart retrieval, scheduling, payroll support, and overall department cleanliness.
  • Participate in store coverage rotation as Manager on Duty, including opening and closing procedures and emergency response support, as required.
  • Manage Floral Department operations, including merchandising, ordering, inventory control, and financial performance
  • Contribute to overall store success by undertaking additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications

  • A genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
  • Completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in business, plus a minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful completion of a Public Health Food Handler certification, Smart Serve, and Level A First Aid and Basic CPR certification, or a commitment to complete all required certifications within six months.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment while effectively managing priorities and maintaining a high standard of performance.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, supported by solid mathematical aptitude.
  • Clear, confident, and effective communication style, with demonstrated experience engaging, coaching, and developing teams.
  • Comfort learning and working with both manual and automated systems, along with experience using various computer software applications.
  • Thrive in a hands-on setting that involves extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, repetitive movement or tasks, and work that may be performed in cooler, freezer, and outdoor conditions.
  • Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
