Job summary

Audi Niagara is seeking a Service Apprentice to join our qualified team in Niagara. You will assist technicians with diagnosing and repairing engine systems, electrical components, and driveline parts as you gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced automotive environment.

We value safety, teamwork, and a strong willingness to learn. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a valid Ontario driver’s license and good driving record.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–2 years of automotive experience preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a dealership setting.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Service Technicians with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing engine systems.
  • Support inspection and servicing of electrical and engine management systems.
  • Help diagnose and repair fuel delivery, clutch, and transmission systems.
  • Assist with driveline, chassis, and suspension inspections and repairs.
  • Support routine maintenance like oil changes and fluid checks.

Here’s what you’ll deliver:
  • Technical Support
    • Assist Service Technicians with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing engine systems, including cooling systems, cylinder heads, and engine block assemblies.
    • Support the inspection and servicing of electrical and engine management systems, such as boosting and charging batteries, and repairing starting and charging components.
    • Provide assistance with diagnosing and repairing fuel delivery, clutch, and transmission systems (manual, automatic, and transaxles), including computer-controlled components.
    • Support the inspection and repair of driveline and chassis components, including drive shafts, differentials, axles, suspension, steering, braking systems, tires, wheels, rims, and hubs.
    • Assist with the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, body and trim components, exhaust and intake systems, and emission control systems.
  • Learning & Development
    • Acquire knowledge of current and emerging automotive technologies and apply this learning in daily work.
    • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities provided by the company or manufacturer.
  • General Maintenance
    • Perform routine maintenance services, including oil and filter changes, topping up or replacing vehicle fluids, checking tire condition and pressure, replacing wiper blades, installing batteries, and performing tire rotations.
  • Cleanliness & Shop Maintenance
    • Ensure customer vehicles are kept clean throughout service, returning them in equal or better condition than received.
    • Maintain a clean, organized bay and bench, ensuring the work area is tidy at the end of each shift.
    • Dispose of garbage, recycling, and shop waste in accordance with company procedures.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Follow all company safety standards and practices at all times.
    • Adhere to all company policies, standards, and procedures.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
What do you need to succeed?
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 1-2 years of work experience in automotive.
  • Capable of working in a collaborative environment while providing a positive attitude.
  • Desire to continue schooling and training.
  • Ability to execute tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a valid Ontario Driver's License and good driving record.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform multiple duties in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest.
  • Follows dealership and manufacturer service guidelines.
  • Proven knowledge and experience with automotive mechanical operations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Ability to utilize power tools while maintaining safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items (50-75 lbs)

Job Type: Full Time - Permanent

Compensation (expected hourly wage): $19.00 - $21.00. The starting rate will be set within this range based on job-related factors such as relevant skills and experience.
