Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Metro Vancouver is hiring a Part-Time AM Server to support the dining room and assist with serving and cleanup in our retirement residence.

The role emphasizes friendly service to residents, teamwork with colleagues, and adherence to safety and cleanliness standards. Experience in food service and care for seniors is preferred; proficiency in a second language is an asset.

Qualifications

• Requires excellent customer service skills
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy items and stand/walk for majority of shift
• Proficiency in a second language is an asset
• Preference will be given to individuals with experience in food service and working with seniors

Responsibilities

• To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner
• To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required
• To assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery at the conclusion of dining service
• To assist with maintaining cleanliness of kitchen and dining area
• To assist with catering and participate in special occasions and theme events
• To assist in orientation and training of new culinary employees
• To follow health and safety legislation and department procedures
• To comply with provincial regulations and department policies and procedures
• To respect Resident Rights and Responsibilities
• To attend in-service training as required
• To attend staff meetings as required
• To participate in Quality Improvement Program
• To uphold the organization’s values and code of conduct

Part-Time AM Server:

Sunday- 7:00am-2:00pm

Monday- 7:00am-2:00pm

Tuesday- 7:00am-2:00pm

Wednesday-7:00am- 2:00pm

Key Responsibilities:

Required Education, Credentials and Experience:

• Preference will be given to individuals who have previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
• Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS) or be willing to obtain one upon hire.
