Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in West Vancouver is seeking a Part-Time AM Server to join our bright dining room. You will help with set-up, serve meals to residents and guests, and assist with tray service in a caring, professional manner.

Shifts are Sunday 7:00am–2:00pm, Monday 7:00am–2:00pm, Tuesday 7:00am–2:00pm, and Wednesday 7:00am–2:00pm. Benefits included; VPS required or willing to obtain the screening upon hire.

Qualifications

• Preference for experience in food service and working with seniors.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy items and stand/walk for a majority of the shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
• Current VPS (Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening) or willingness to obtain one upon hire.

Responsibilities

• To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• To assist with cleaning of dishware, cutlery at the conclusion of each dining service as required.
• To assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required.
• To assist with catering and actively participate in special occasions and theme events.
• To assist in the orientation and training of new culinary employees.
• To follow health and safety legislation and department procedures.
• To comply with provincial regulations and the residence's policies.
• To respect Resident Rights and Responsibilities and promote them.
• To attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner;

• To complete all other tasks as assigned.

Required Education, Credentials and Experience:

• Preference will be given to individuals who have previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors

• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills

• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift

• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.

• Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS) or be willing to obtain one upon hire.
