Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a friendly server to join our dining team at our retirement residence. You will help with meal service, tray delivery, and dining room setup in a welcoming environment designed for seniors.

Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, assisting in kitchen and catering tasks, and supporting new staff through orientation. A VPS clearance and multilingual abilities are valued for this role.

Qualifications

• Preference given to applicants with experience in food service and working with seniors.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy items and stand/walk for most of the shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
• Current VPS or willingness to obtain one within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery after each dining service.
• Help maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
• Assist with catering and participate in special events and theme days.
• Support orientation and training of new culinary staff.
• Follow health and safety regulations and department policies.
• Respect Resident Rights and Responsibilities and promote them.
• Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.
• Contribute to the organization's Quality Improvement Program.

Key Responsibilities

• To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• To assist with cleaning of dishware, cutlery at the conclusion of each dining service as required.
• To assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required.

• To follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.
• To comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures.
• To be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavor to respect and promote it.
• To attend in-service training as required in order to better serve the needs of the residents.
• To attend staff meetings as required to be aware of changes in the Residence that have taken place.
• To participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
• To uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in the Company’s Code of Conduct.
• To complete all other tasks as assigned.

Required Education, Credentials and Experience
