Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Server to join our dining room team at our retirement residence. The role involves serving meals to residents and guests in a professional manner, setting and clearing tables, and assisting with tray service and cleaning duties.

Candidates with food service experience and a passion for working with seniors are preferred. The position requires physical stamina to lift/transfer items and stand for long periods, with VPS screening required upon hire if not already

Qualifications

• Preference given to individuals with previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
• Current (within 6 months) VPS or willingness to obtain one upon hire.

Responsibilities

• To assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery at the conclusion of each dining service
• To assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required

• To follow health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures
• To comply with provincial regulations and department policies
• To uphold residents rights and promote them
• To attend in-service training as required
• To attend staff meetings as required
• To participate in the Quality Improvement Program
• To uphold and promote the organization's values and code of conduct
• To complete all other tasks as assigned

Key Responsibilities
