Job summary

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment in Burnaby, BC is hiring a Lounge Server on a casual, hourly wage of $18.60. This role focuses on creating a lively guest experience, selling events and products, and building guest loyalty in a fast-paced dining room with evening and weekend shifts.

You will take orders, serve food and beverages, and participate in promotions while maintaining expert knowledge of the venue's offerings. Prior high-volume dining experience and serving certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years or more experience in a high-volume casual dining environment.
• Cash handling experience with POS system.
• Serving It Right / ProServe / Smart Serve certificates.
• World Host / Super Host certificate preferred.
• Food Safe Level 1 certificate.
• Able to carry up to 30 pounds.
• Excellent public speaking and guest interaction.
• Knowledge of specialty food and beverage items.

Responsibilities

As a Lounge Server, you will increase guest loyalty by building a client network and promoting events and products. Key Responsibilities

• Maintains and demonstrates expert knowledge of products, events and promotions.

What You Bring

• Two years or more experience in a similar high-volume restaurant (casual dining) environment.
• Cash handling experience using POS system or cashier register.
• Tourism, promotion, marketing, entertainment or event training experience preferred.
• Serving It Right (BC)/ Proserve (Alberta) certificate/ Smart Serve (Ontario).
• World Host / Super Host certificate or other similar customer service programs preferred.
• Proven selling, marketing, and service skills in a dining, retail, or promotions environment.
• Food Safe Level 1 certificate.
• Effective public speaking skills and presence.
• Ability to carry up to 30 pounds, specifically a fully loaded serving tray.
• Knowledge of specialty food and beverage items.
• Successful In-house testing on knowledge of specialty food and beverage items.
• Successful In-house testing on service delivery and promotional ability.
